A big pain point for our client “Strelka Games” was a very low player base for their online game “Hell is Others” which averaged about 25 concurrent players on the Steam platform. They had a goal of increasing their concurrent player base and getting more customers. So the marketing approach that was taken was to launch on Epic Store on a 2 days weekend with free access and alongside it. With this in mind, we helped activate a community event campaign called “Blood Hunt”.
The goal was for players to log in a certain amount of times during the event as well as kill a certain amount of enemies. With advice from our client using internal metrics of the game, they estimated that a hard-to-reach goal would be “200,000” enemies. The event proved to be so popular that in its conclusion, the player base reached “4,318,553” kills. Completely surprising us and our client in surpassing our expectations. One of the direct results of this was that Twitter follower growth increased by 986% and Twitter Post link Clicks went up by 80%. The Hell is Others’ Instagram account got a 200% increase in reach and engagements and has increased the audience on their Discord server by over 1.5k and increasing it’s activity dramatically.
