DAJI · Hours Reimagined

DAJI · Hours Reimagined is a large-scale public digital art project created by Relight for DAJI, Beijing. Inspired by the traditional Chinese concept of Hours (Shichen), the project transforms time, architecture, and urban culture into an immersive experience of light and motion.

Drawing from Xuannan culture, traditional Beijing architecture, sundials, and Chinese seals, the installation reinterprets cultural symbols through generative animation, naked-eye 3D visuals, real-time data, and spatial storytelling. Light is no longer treated as architectural decoration but as a medium that connects public art, commercial space, and collective urban memory.

The project consists of multiple digital artworks—including DAJI Mirror, DAJI Heart, and DAJI Gate—that unfold through the rhythms of the day and the changing seasons. As visitors move through the site, the visual environment continuously evolves with time, creating a living dialogue between heritage and contemporary city life while redefining how digital art can activate public space.
