Wild Hope is a video production of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Tangled Bank Studios that highlights the heroes and successes, small and large, of biodiversity preservation. Forum One collaborated with Tangled Bank Studios to develop a stunning, mobile-responsive WordPress site for Wild Hope, resulting in a dynamic, user-friendly platform that not only showcases the documentary series, but also enhances user interaction and exploration.
The Wild Hope team had a strong visual style, and needed help bringing that style to life on their website, with the ability to quickly scale as new episodes were released in a way that was easy for their small team to manage. To meet these needs, Forum One developed and released the site through multiple phases, with an emphasis on visual design – enhanced with striking nature photography – and providing the Wild Hope team with the tools to dramatically expand content. Wild Hope’s small team has been able to swiftly grow their site from teaser content for a few episodes to many pages and in-depth resources.
The site's design emphasizes three primary avenues for discovering content: watching the series, exploring additional materials such as interviews and lesson plans, and engaging in real-world activities, such as building a native-plants garden. Beyond these main pathways, the site introduces additional methods to enrich the user experience, including a guided search feature tailored to meet the needs of specific target audiences by suggesting common search types, and content tags that enable users to easily navigate and explore different aspects of the site.
