Canadian Children's Book Centre

In collaboration with the Canadian Children's Book Centre (CCBC), a national non-profit championing Canadian books for young readers, Motiv re-imagined a new digital experience focused on audience engagement. This project included an audit of the existing website and a redesign that flawlessly integrates the organization’s strategic direction, the content strategy, SEO objectives, and high accessibility standards.

The redesign process began with developing detailed user segment profiles and customer journey maps to understand the needs and pain points of CCBC's diverse stakeholders, including educators, authors, publishers, partners, donors, and families. These insights formed the basis for a user-friendly website that caters to the specific requirements of each group, enhancing their ability to find the necessary information with ease.

The strategic redesign centred around an approachable, comfortable, and visually appealing website to boost user experience and engagement. Concurrently, we crafted a new content strategy aligned with CCBC's objectives, creating engaging, informative content optimized for search engine visibility.

Acknowledging the criticality of digital accessibility, we designed the website to comply with the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. Rigorous user testing ensured that the platform is inclusive, particularly for users with disabilities.

This project demonstrates Motiv’s commitment to providing comprehensive and value-driven digital strategy and product development. CCBC is empowered to connect, engage, and inspire their diverse audience more effectively than ever before–getting diverse Canadian books in the hands of children across the nation.
