CCAO RPIE – Online Application

The Cook County Assessor’s Office (“CCAO”) engaged Clarity Partners (“Clarity”) to design their Real Property Interest and Expense (“RPIE”) application form as a stand-alone online application. The goal is to have correct data from property owners provided to assess taxes correctly.

This online RPIE application is built in .NET. Information collected is based on the existing fillable PDF form. This is currently assumed to be a volunteer effort for users, and not legally required. RPIE is a stand-alone site, with no application interactivity needed from any other website or back-end functions.

For the public, Clarity and CCAO believe that building this tool provides the Assessor with accurate information for commercial property owners and lawyers, increasing comprehension of the assessment process and will result in a reduction in the number of appeals, an increase in the share of successful appeals, narrower sales ratios, and a reduction in analytical time.
