WebMechanix’s design team began by conducting an in-depth audit of the existing navigation, information architecture, and design systems on HotDocs’s website. We noticed the site navigation lacked clarity, as the existing layout split the site’s content between a main navigation bar and a hamburger menu off to the side.
We initiated stakeholder interviews. This information helped the team improve design and copy so that prospects better understood how HotDocs can solve their problems.
Our final direction resulted in a snug, condensed navigation menu that facilitates ease of access across the site.
Since the parent company, AbacusNext, wanted to maintain consistent branding for its other subsidiary websites, we redesigned HotDocs’s site with the future in mind by creating a reusable design.
With UI and UX factors in mind, we also updated the client’s branding. Our design team believed we could make the new color palette and imagery more eye-catching and inviting to create a more welcoming experience for new and returning visitors.
We brightened some colors to create a range of blues to breathe life into the site. We added font weights to allow for bolder headings, which helps readers who like to skim. The new font and colors are inviting yet sophisticated, giving the brand a distinctly modern look and improving readability and trust.
The site is now future proof and can easily adapt to changing trends and designs over the next decade or so.
