Interview with Curated for Theater Team, Vega Digital Awards Winner

1 Congratulations on your achievements in the Vega Digital Awards! Could you start by introducing yourself or your agency? Can you also share a bit about your journey into your current industry?

We are incredibly proud to have won Silver this season. Sanya, Kshitij, Eeshani, and Omkcar come from different creative backgrounds, but fate brought us together through a shared passion for ideas, design, and storytelling. What began as casual conversations about the advertisements we loved—and sometimes disliked—while riding the subway or walking through Times Square gradually evolved into something much bigger. We decided to join forces, create as a team, and put our creativity to the test on a larger stage by entering international awards.

2 What inspired you to submit your work for this competition, and what does winning mean to you personally and professionally?

Discovering the Vega Digital Awards encouraged us to explore the work recognized in previous seasons. Seeing the quality of ideas, craftsmanship, and creativity behind those winning entries inspired us and reaffirmed that this was the right platform to challenge ourselves and see how our work measured up. Winning Silver means a great deal to us because this began as a passion project between friends who simply loved discussing advertising, ideas, and creativity. Beyond the recognition itself, it has given us the confidence to believe our ideas can stand on a global stage. It is a reminder to keep creating, keep taking chances, and keep believing in the work we do together.

3 Can you share the story behind your success? What inspired its creation, and what do you feel it represents in today’s industry?

The idea came from something that felt natural to all four of us. As avid moviegoers, we noticed that going to the cinema has become about more than just watching a film—people want to be part of the experience. Whether it is dressing in pink for Barbie or wearing a sequined glove inspired by Michael, audiences are embracing the themes of the films they love and making the experience their own. That observation became our central insight. We believe it reflects where the industry is today, with entertainment, fashion, social media, and culture becoming increasingly interconnected. People no longer want to simply consume content; they want to participate in it, express themselves through it, and share those experiences with others.

4 What do you believe set your project apart in such a competitive field? Were there specific elements or strategies that made it shine?

We believe our project stood out because it was relatable and grounded in real consumer behavior. We observed how people dress up for films to become part of the experience, then explored where they found the items to bring those moments to life. Discovering Etsy as a go-to platform for quirky, customized products helped shape a concept that felt both authentic and culturally relevant.

5 Every project has its challenges. Can you share a significant obstacle you faced during this process and how you overcame it?

We used AI to create our visuals, but our biggest challenge was making them feel as realistic as possible. After experimenting with different AI platforms and models, we achieved an outcome that closely resembled a real movie theater experience, reflecting the scenes we had observed of audiences dressing up for the films they were watching.

6 Winning an award of this caliber often brings recognition. What do you hope this achievement will mean for your career, your team, or your agency in the long run? Have you already noticed any changes or opportunities arising from this recognition?

Our team was thrilled to receive this recognition. After sharing the news on our individual LinkedIn profiles, we received encouraging feedback from industry professionals, which not only increased our visibility but also helped us build meaningful connections within the creative community.

7 What has the reaction been from clients, audiences, or stakeholders about your winning entry? Any feedback or memorable moments that stand out?

After receiving this recognition, many of our peers congratulated us, but the most memorable moment was seeing them share photos of themselves dressed up as characters from their favorite movies. It even inspired a few of us to plan our next movie outing in costume together.

8 For those aspiring to achieve similar success, what advice would you offer to help them not only thrive in their industries but also craft compelling, award-worthy entries? Are there specific practices, mindsets, or strategies you believe are key?

For anyone aspiring to achieve similar success, my advice is to become a keen observer. Advertising and marketing are ultimately about people, so paying close attention to how people behave in everyday situations can be incredibly valuable. Make it a habit to capture those observations, whether in a notebook or on your phone. When you later encounter a creative brief, whether for an award or a client, those everyday insights can become the foundation of a compelling and relatable idea.

9 The digital industry is constantly evolving. How do you view these changes, and where do you hope to position yourself in the future?

The digital industry is constantly evolving, which is why my team and I make it a priority to discuss new campaigns that capture our attention, along with emerging social media features that could benefit marketers. I see this constant evolution as a positive because it keeps our thinking fresh and encourages us to adapt. With new trends, platforms, and features emerging all the time, there are always new opportunities to create work that stands out. Looking ahead, I hope to continue building a deep understanding of the digital landscape and use those insights to develop even stronger, more creative ideas.

10 Entering awards can be daunting for many, especially those just starting out. What would you say to individuals who have limited experience, or are hesitant to showcase their work in competitions? How can they build confidence and see the value in participating?

Entering awards can feel daunting, especially for those just starting out. My first piece of advice is to study previous winning entries to better understand the standard of work expected. From there, they can either develop the skills needed to reach that level or collaborate with others who can help bring their ideas to life. Once they feel ready, they should enter with confidence. Even if they do not take home a win, the experience and recognition gained along the way can be just as valuable.

11 Innovation thrives on connection. What message would you like to share with fellow digital thinkers, marketers, and industry professionals?

My message to fellow digital thinkers, marketers, and industry professionals is simple: never give up on your ambitions, whether it is striving for recognition or creating the next great campaign. If you would like to exchange ideas, discuss creative possibilities, or collaborate on a project, I would be delighted to connect on LinkedIn.

12 Winning is a team effort in many cases. Is there someone or a group of people you’d like to dedicate this achievement to, and why?

I would like to dedicate this achievement to my team, whose creativity and collaboration brought this idea to life, and to my mentors, whose guidance helped me understand and refine every stage of the creative process, from developing an idea to executing it effectively.

13 If you could describe your award-winning entry in one sentence, what would it be and why?

Our award-winning entry celebrated the joyful, relatable moments that bring people together, making them feel seen, connected, and confident in expressing who they are. At its core, the idea was simple: to make people smile, see themselves reflected in the work, and celebrate the small yet meaningful moments that make each of us unique.

14 Finally, what’s next for you? Any exciting projects or upcoming goals that you’d like to share with us and the audience?

Looking ahead, my team and I hope to build on the confidence this recognition has given us by taking on bigger creative challenges, participating in more competitions, and continuing to share our ideas with a global audience.
