Next Era introduces Scania’s new series to the China market through a film that is both a launch statement and a brand manifesto. At its heart, the project expresses how Scania brings 130 years of global experience into a new chapter in China — not simply presenting the arrival of a truck, but signaling the dawn of a new era.
The production was designed to mirror this intersection of heritage and innovation. Footage of Scania staff was filmed on location within the company, connecting the story to the people behind the brand. Because the truck could not be operated on public roads during production, actor-led scenes were staged inside an XR studio, where we built digital natural environments for the immersive screen backdrop. Additional driving shots in mountainous landscapes were created using Unreal Engine, with carefully crafted natural lighting to preserve realism and cinematic depth.
The result is a film that merges physical production and virtual technology into one seamless visual language — a reflection of Scania’s enduring legacy, technological ambition, and deep commitment to establishing its future in China.
