In a category where everyone wants to inspire gamers to reach higher and achieve more - the insight was simple: in order to win, you have to lose. The journey to success isn’t plain sailing. Off the back of this we created the campaign idea: “Always Get Back Up”. A celebration of gamer resilience, and the ability to finally turn defeat into victory. While most brands align with a single gaming genre we challenged this convention by incorporating horror, sci-fi, competitive shooter, RPGs, Indie & fantasy genres. Our hero film tells the universal story of a gamer who, no matter how many times he’s knocked down by a succession of diverse gaming ‘bosses’, finds the strength to rise again. Showing how, armed with the best gaming hardware, a huge dose of resilience and a little help from his friends, it was possible for our hero gamer to reach his impossible. Showing a literal representation of the brand platform. It didn’t matter how many times our hero character was defeated – he got there in the end. He achieved his impossible. Our immersive film came to life through meticulous craft: • We incorporated community collaboration, running a competition to design our ultimate boss. Manacloud was flown to the set to collaborate with the VFX team to bring his character to life. • For talent authenticity & believability, we cast genuine gamers who understood the emotion behind every challenge, loss, and determination to win. • We blurred the line between reality and fantasy by transforming a mundane student flat into a “battle-zone”, employing practical fiery portals and smashing walls. • We used groundbreaking technical innovation and meticulous post-production artistry; consisting of 70 intricate 2D and 3D VFX shots, including the detailed design of six core boss characters. • Through our on-set and remote VFX supervision, utilizing Gaussian Splats and Insta360 cameras for precise environmental scanning and photorealistic integration, we ensured seamless interaction between live-action and CG elements. • We edited a high-impact cut, and created a visceral, emotionally resonant soundscape. We integrated music ('Big Dawgs' by Hanumankind) to help amplify the narrative.
