Continuum of Comics: Identity Relics extends the exploration of identity and distortion in the digital age by transforming glitch-based portraits into tangible artifacts. The series begins with digital illustrations that reimagine the aesthetic of vintage American comics fractured through glitch manipulations, where fragmented geometries and chromatic ruptures question the stability of human presence and the multiplicity of self. The second phase translates these spectral portraits into acrylic keychains and collectible objects. By materializing the digital into handheld relics, the project investigates how memory and identity circulate between screen and object, ephemerality and permanence. Each piece retains the glitch aesthetic while occupying physical space, suggesting that in contemporary visual culture, even distortion can be preserved, exchanged, and carried as a token of selfhood.
In my artistic practice, I explore how fragmentation, concealment, and distortion serve as mirrors of human psychology. Through experimental works in installation and visual art, I explore how the act of obscuring or disrupting images raises deeper questions about identity. By merging architectural analysis with psychological reflection, my practice evolves into a critical exploration of contemporary existence. I am interested in the paradoxes of clarity and rupture, coherence and instability, presence and disappearance. Rather than treating error, glitch, or incompleteness as failure, I view them as productive conditions, moments where new meanings emerge. Through this, I aim to create works that question systems, reimagine identity, and invite viewers to inhabit the space between order and disruption.
