Initially turning to high-concentration cannabis to cope with the pressures of professional football, Brandon soon found himself battling dependency and facing its toll on his mental health. Brandon’s recovery narrative underscores the power of his resilience, importance of alternative coping skills, and a renewed commitment to physical and mental well-being.
“The Breaking Point: A Life Lost to THC” This powerful documentary explores the overlooked risks of high-concentration cannabis through the devastating true story of Johnny Stack, a Colorado teen whose early cannabis use led to psychosis and suicide. Told through the voice of his mother Laura, the film traces Johnny’s descent into cannabis-induced mental illness and the heartbreak that followed—while shining a light on the urgent need for education and awareness.
The third documentary, “Devastating: Students Describe the Chaos of High Concentration Cannabis Use” offers an intimate look at students recovering from cannabis use disorder at Denver’s only sober high school, 5280. As today’s cannabis products reach dangerously high THC levels, the film explores the growing impact of high-concentration cannabis on youth—highlighting serious mental and physical health risks such as psychosis, mania, and anxiety. With adolescent brains still developing until age 25, the film calls for a deeper conversation about addiction, recovery, and the urgent need for informed decisions and healthier ways to manage the stress of growing up. Told through their voices, it follows their journey toward healing using healthier coping strategies to confront addiction.
