For more than 30 years, Franklin Energy has supported energy and water conservation in communities across the nation. Beyond helping clients and partners transition to clean energy, the organization also remains mindful of their own carbon footprint. Through their annual sustainability report, Franklin Energy holds itself accountable to strict guidelines and reports on their progress across a number of initiatives and goals.
Through the collective effort of marketing experts, engineers, program managers, the sustainability working group, and others, the Franklin Energy team acquires the information to build their annual sustainability report. This report is first created as a printed document and then transformed into a web-friendly version for environmentally friendly digital distribution.
To keep a variety of internal and external stakeholders engaged with this process, the marketing team hosts an internal lunch and learn for employees, sends various emails with targeted messages, and communicates the report on social media. In addition to a sustainability-centric page on the organization’s website, the team also builds PowerPoint slides and an interactive Community Impact Report landing page to bring the report’s numbers to life while highlighting employees’ experiences over the past year.
While the team is proud of the final product, the Franklin Energy sustainability report serves as a reminder of the impact their experts have made—and the opportunities that still remain. The organization continues to look for ways to not only reduce the carbon footprint of clients and their customers, but to seek the same for themselves in the process.
