MPTC Calendar 2024: Layers of Progress

Space Sheep Media Lab Inc. pitched, executed, and completed a calendar design for Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) — a tollway company in the Philippines. The team’s primary task was to come up with an innovative idea and create an output that would transform an ordinary office staple into a memento of legacy, reflecting the products and services offered by MPTC. The outcome was the MPTC Calendar 2024: Layers of Progress, a paper-art-executed calendar featuring people, places, and their perspectives, creating a narrative of progress in motion for every page.

MPTC, along with its subsidiaries, aims to showcase how it enriches the lives of Filipinos and contributes to nation-building through advanced roads and infrastructure tailored to evolving consumer needs.

Given that 60% of the country's population is employed and many commute for work, MPTC plays a crucial role in the lives of Filipinos. The team then decided to mirror the progression of people’s lived experiences on each page, adopting an art approach that is just as intricate and meticulous.

With the vision of closely capturing people's lived experiences, Paper Art emerged as the most fitting medium for representation. Through this artistic approach, we intricately depict places, people, and their experiences—mirroring how MPTC crafts its services layer by layer, tailored to the needs of the people.

Aligning with the brand's mission to provide the good life to people, the team showcased the impact of their services through featured results. The creation process involves vector layout and paper art. To craft the paper art pieces, the team collaborated with Ms. Elaine Samonte of Kwentong Papel (@kwentongpapel), an exceptional paper artist, to bring to life the envisioned idea, concept, and layout. Each month, themed after a subsidiary, translates into a detailed paper art piece, narrating real stories, making the calendar not only an office staple but also a memento of legacy.
