The Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) commissioned WONDR to revamp their online presence, aiming to streamline their digital ecosystem, enhance user experience, & support DCCI's mission to champion Irish craft & design globally. DCCI serves as the national agency for the commercial development of Irish designers and makers, driving innovation, promoting design thinking, and influencing Government policy to foster the growth of Irish crafts. The website sought to serve as an educational hub, advocating for design while consolidating DCCI’s 5 sub-brands into a single, cohesive user-first platform, ultimately promoting the creative excellence of Irish crafts. WONDR led a comprehensive redesign using WP Engine's managed WordPress platform. The new website not only served as a secure and scalable content hub but also featured dedicated sections for a directory showcasing designers and makers, a Members/Makers section offering support and services, & an events section promoting cultural activities and industry events such as Irish Design Week. WONDR adopted a user-first approach, utilising content as navigation to create logical user journeys & clear paths for engagement. A cohesive visual language was introduced to strengthen DCCI's brand ownership of the digital experience, effectively showcasing the creative excellence of Irish crafts. The collaborative efforts resulted in a dynamic & engaging website that exceeded expectations. The site, built on a bespoke WordPress dedicated install on WPEngine, achieved a stellar 99% performance score with a 40% reduction in bounce rates & impressive increases in session duration, the site offered seamless navigation and improved user experience. The integration of advanced solutions such as EverCache and Global Edge Security further enhanced performance and security. According to Suzy O’Keefe, Head of Communication and Digital at DCCI, "We now have an online presence that truly reflects the role that DCCI plays in raising awareness of the vibrancy of the craft and design sector in Ireland. Something to be proud of." The revamped website facilitates stronger engagement and collaboration with stakeholders, reinforcing DCCI's leadership. Positive user feedback underscores the success of the seamless and impactful user experience, supporting DCCI's mission and celebrating the creative achievements of its members & makers.
