Planning a holiday can be stressful. Fáilte Ireland, Ireland's national tourism development authority, wanted to change that and make the experience of planning and booking almost as much fun as the holiday itself. Working with All human as its digital partner, they designed and developed visitdublin.com, a transformative online experience that delivers for both visitors and Fáilte Ireland's industry partners.
Visitors to the mobile-first site quickly see that it gives them all the information they need to plan the perfect visit to Dublin. For resources about everything from accommodation to zoo opening times, visitdublin.com has it all.
It is an experience that entices visitors, native or not, to discover the treasures and excitement that Dublin offers with its rich and varied history. Acting as a guidebook, the site suggests a wide variety of activities and entertainment choices that mean there is something for everyone. It also brings some of Dublin's rich history to life as visitors listen to the voices of the city via numerous walking trails with audio descriptions that enable self-guided tours around famous locations.
Like the city, visitdublin.com welcomes everyone. It considers the seven principles of universal design and is designed to be intuitive and accessible to everyone. With an intuitive interface, users quickly understand the information they are presented with, while the universal search is easily accessed from anywhere on the website. It also allows users to easily refine their searches by specifying terms or keywords associated with their query.
On the AXE Monitor accessibility scan, visitdublin.com achieved a 100% score; this excludes external assets such as Google Maps.
