Le Centre franco is proud to present the nomination of the webzine Mon mag à moi as part of the VEGA Digital Awards 2023.
This youth webzine is created and made available to students, teachers and parents of Ontario's French-language school boards.
Mon Mag à moi, which is for students aged 8 to 11, presents themes that reflect the many facets of francophone culture that are an integral part of the lives of young people in Ontario in the era of globalization in the 21st century. Topics of interests are presented in creative, dynamic and current ways to encourage students to read.
Webzine content is aligned with Ontario’s curriculum and ministry priorities for education. From a perspective of equity, inclusion and differentiation, webzine features a variety of texts formats, such as video interviews, animated comics, youth stories, chronicles, recipes and interactive games, supported by alternative texts to meet the specific needs of students.
Mon mag à moi focuses on topics of interest to young people, including sports, arts, culture, the environment, well-being, financial literacy, etc., all enhanced by a special report featuring a current issue or a personality.
This webzine in virtual format is presented in an inviting and structured way to highlight the content and to give to students, many of whom are learning French, a taste for reading.
The variety of colorful illustrations, photos and videos, as well as the richness of the vocabulary accompanied by an integrated glossary, aims to pique the students' curiosity, consolidate their language skills and reading comprehension and broaden their fields of interest.
The webzine Mon mag à moi also offers an educational animation sheet to enrich the learning experience. The ergonomics and design of the interface aims to promote a quality user experience.
