We were tasked with redesigning a website for local crisp suppliers - Two Farmers. The goal was to enhance the user experience, create more visual interest and increase conversion rates. We wanted to denote connotations such as ‘local’, ‘homegrown’, ‘organic’ and ‘environmentally friendly’. This was achieved by using appropriate imagery, fonts and colours throughout the site.

The imagery is very much natural, mainly featuring the owners of Two Farmers working away in the fields to give a personal feel to it. Using the correct imagery in the correct places with a mixture of black and white and coloured imagery helped us give the website an organic and homegrown feel to it. We also used a few creative assets in places such as rice paper backgrounds to emphasise these feelings.

The fonts and colours were already part of their brand. However, we made sure to use the fonts correctly and the colours subtly when creating the site.

The website required a trade portal, where trade customers can log in and order products at a different rate to normal customers. This involved creating registration forms, account portals and trade order forms. Customers can register for an account and can then be approved or disapproved by Two Farmers.

We also included the functionality to ‘Subscribe and Save’ on every product. There are a variety of frequencies to choose from. This not only keeps customers ordering more consistently, but it’s also much more convenient for customers who don’t want the ‘to-do’ of manually placing an order each week.

We also wanted to introduce the functionality for users to review products. This process would be easy for users to use and visually appealing. Since this, Two Farmers have received 763 reviews across all products to date.

As well as this additional functionality, we also worked on SEO with a variety of techniques. These included: decreasing page load time, mobile friendliness, keyword optimised content, including internal and external links, technical areas such as HTML good practice, SEO titles & meta descriptions (based on data) for each page.
