THE PROJECT THAT PROVIDED A SOLUTION
Biogen Canada recognized an immediate need to provide patients and their families with
consolidated information. This includes important topics and questions to consider when speaking
to their doctors in order to have meaningful conversations and make well-informed decisions.
Biogen worked with LSD The Agency to develop an unbranded, educational website called
“The Truth About SMA” to inform patients, caregivers and the general public about SMA
treatment options and important considerations.
The site is in its second evolution, evolving from a True/False quiz to a comprehensive source
for SMA information. Both the content and creative were refreshed to be current, impactful,
and relevant. But the objective remained the same – provide patients and their families with
the knowledge they needed to make informed decisions.
The Details:
With the treatments all drastically different, it
was important to create an objective resource
for patients and their families that could:
1. Represent all available treatments on the
market in Canada
2. Identify key considerations and questions
that patients and their families might want to
ask their physicians through their treatment
journey and decision-making process
Long-term Viability:
The website was designed to allow
information to be easily updated and
ensure accurate and up to date information
was available. The comparison style of the
website also provides information in a way
that is easily digestible for patients/families
and makes it easy for them to review
information side by side.
