The student apartment homes serving Northern Arizona University students at Uncommon Flagstaff needed a website with a personality as vivacious as its community. The Uncommon brand boasts vibrant gradients, an idiosyncratic combination of organic and geometric patterns and fonts, and a color scheme congruent with the natural brilliance of the American Southwest. But the website could not only provide aesthetic pleasure – it had a job to do as well. As functional as it is beautiful, the Uncommon Flagstaff website is built on the tenants of technical search engine optimization, a seamless interface and user experience, and nudges meant to minimize the number of clicks it takes for a user to schedule a tour and ultimately sign a lease. A data-driven, mobile-first design encourages the Gen-Z target audience to seamlessly navigate the site garnering a 2.4 page-per-session average and a conversion rate of 9.06%. Ultimately, the website combines excitement through engaging copy and colorful design, convenience with its floorplans gallery and virtual tours, and builds resonance by highlighting students' desires including commitment to sustainability, proximity to campus and local landmarks, and thoughtful amenities. As such, the website reflects the brand and property's promise: an elevated, "Uncommon" environment for students to live, study, and thrive during their most formative years.
