This started out as an environment built out of the Unreal Reflections level kit for my Environment 2 class. I picked a theme, designed and built the level layout with the kit, and then added around nine of my own props. During two weeks over my break, I decided to rebuild it from the ground up. I re-modeled and UV'd all of the base world geometry from the kit for practice and made adjustments and custom modular pieces where necessary. I dove into getting a better grasp of Substance Designer to create the wall tile, concrete floor, and concrete ceiling textures. Multiple versions were created so that I could utilize vertex texture blending in unreal to add in the cracks, missing tiles, paint, and animated water puddles. All original prop models were removed or replaced with my own models and textures. Models were created in Maya and ZBrush with textures being developed in Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Photoshop. I then re-lit the scene and added volumetric fog and post-processing to finalize the end look. I plan to continue working on this scene to increase the prop density and variation in some areas.
