Turing wanted:
“A new, innovative, user-tested, accessible and responsive website that:
provides clear user journeys for a variety of audiences
showcases research (including the researchers), news, events and opportunities of the Institute
enables the Turing team to design pages and make changes without requiring developer support”
Turing also wanted the design to be cutting edge to reflect the innovative nature of the research while being flexible enough to cope with a variety of users and be entirely CMS driven so that developer support wasn’t necessary.
The design is super modern, but also very usable. It accurately reflects the visual identity and the brand as a whole. It makes a big first impression with striking images and colours, but this quickly gives way to very easy to consume content sections.
The site has been extremely well received by the Institute and its stakeholders. It has also received some industry recognition. We recently attended CogX 2019 which is a leading global AI conference where Alan Turing had a dedicated stage to showcase their work. We received overwhelming support and compliments from people within the industry who have interacted with the site.
The project was completed on-time and on-budget which the client was thrilled about. It also matched their brief which was one of the more critical aspects of the build.
