Velvet Hamster

Velvet Hamster (http://www.velvethamster.com) is a satirical news website.

The client envisioned a website that had a fresh, young, and cool vibe that is easy and fun to browse. Together with the designers at DASH Strategy, we developed a website for Velvet Hamster that achieved those goals.

We helped the client to develop unique content, like satirical news host Chris from Chicago. Chris is a foul-mouthed stereotypical Chicaogan with a thick accent to boot. He investigates important issues (e.g. electric scooters), reports on-site for hot news stories (e.g. the gator found in a Chicago pond), and even has his own culinary beat.

Since launching in June 2019, Velvet Hamster has had 119k unique website visitors and developed a community of 66,000+ Facebook fans.
