The Fogo Island Co-operative Society has spent generations sustaining the livelihoods of local fishers and processors. Guided by a legacy of resilience and community, the Co-op combines innovation, responsible harvesting, and uncompromising quality to bring the finest North Atlantic seafood to tables around the world. To carry forward the story of the Fogo Island Co-operative Society, we created a new digital presence rooted in authenticity and pride of place. The website was designed to honour the Co-op’s history while looking confidently to the future, with clear navigation, thoughtful storytelling, and a visual language shaped by the island itself. To strike a balance between the highly technical information and specifications of the seafood products they offer while keeping digital storytelling top of mind, we created hand drawn illustrations to represent each species. They’re a nod back to the beautiful logo and really represent the unique nature of the Co-op and how it operates within the seafood industry. We also captured a wide range of photography to support the website’s design which includes everything from work in the processing plants to exquisite sunrises on the water. For the Fogo Island Co-operative Society, their website is a crucial part of their sales strategy and how they promote their business. Creating a cohesive digital experience that reflects the Co-op’s legacy and strengthens its global presence invites audiences to understand not just what the Co-op does, but why it matters.
